Kativik Community Geoportal

	GeoConnections is a national partnership initiative working to build the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure, which will make Canada’s geospatial databases, tools and services readily accessible on-line. GeoConnections has provided financial support for the development of the KCG.
	Katutjinik is a non-profit organization that supports and helps coordinate regional development in partnership with other regional bodies through a variety of projects and initiatives.
	The Québec Government’s Ministère des Ressources naturelles, de la Faune et des Parcs (MRNFP) is responsible for land and natural resource management on the Québec territory. The department’s mission is to foster knowledge of Québec’s land and natural resources and to ensure their sustainable development and enhancement for the benefit of the population as a whole.
	The Québec Government’s Ministère de la Sécurité publique (MSP) is responsible for public safety. The Department’s mission is to ensure the population of Québec has a safe living environment, allowing them to exercice their individual rights and freedoms and favorable to the development of individuals and communities. MSP has provided data on hazardous areas (eg. avalanche risk zones) for certain communities.
	Makivik Corporation is an Inuit organization whose mandate is to foster, promote and protect Inuit rights, values and traditions and help develop opportunities for the Inuit to participate in the development of their society. Makivik is providing data to specific end-users in the communities.
	Natural Resources Canada specializes in the sustainable development and use of natural resources, energy, minerals and metals, forests and earth sciences. NRCan is making the 1:250K and 1:50 topographical data available through the GeoPortal.
	The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs in support of Canada’s economic, ecological and scientific interests in oceans and inland waters. DFO is providing data on the coastal areas and on marinelife habitats.
