About the Kativik Community Geoportal
The Kativik Community Geoportal (KCG) is an interactive Web application for land use management and planning activities in Nunavik.
The GeoPortal offers many Web services:
- a general public access to reports and applicable by-laws as well as a variety of other geographic information that shows the use and occupation of the land, its characteristics, physical (avalanch and flooding zones, areas of landslide) and legal (zoning) constraints, public infrastructure and road networks;
- an on-line registration service for project proponents to apply for development permits for construction projects and use of the land;
- a system to help the communities manage the requests for permits and issue out authorizations;
- a land use planning service for municipal employees and the elected municipal council members to collaborate collectively on land use plans that serve to orient the development of the northern communities.
An on-line help service (
) provides explanations on how to use the application.
